Success: Palermo Valley is Real

Palermo is a famous neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, and it’s so big and vast that has many different zones. The place where all the TV studios are, is known as Palermo Hollywood and another zone with fashion boutiques is also known as Palermo Soho, giving a cosmopolitan glamour to the entire place.

3 weeks ago, I’ve noticed that there were many technological start ups appearing in the zone. When I mentioned this to my father, he jokingly said: “So it looks like you are in Palermo Valley”. Eureka! From that day onwards, to my ears the neighbourhood had a brand new name.

When I told this story to Emiliano, Manuel and Victor (members of the pop team) we agreed instantly that this meme needed to be pushed as far as possible. Twitter was the appropiate tool, so I began to tweet intensely the new meme. 

Long story short: In less than 3 weeks, palermovalley.com has been created by Vanesa K, the word is out on a lot of local technology blogs and a new event is going to be held this thursday for all entrepreneurs/bloggers/etc in Buenos Aires, it’s called “Palermo Valley Nights” thanks to Vanesa.

Now that the meme has become a local reality, I’m blogging this on english to start giving international exposure to our brand new neighbourhood Palermo Valley and the exciting start ups that are appearing down here.
